I happen to see pple like Terrence Cao, Shaun Chen, Pan Ling Ling ... shopping for groceries...
And today was another one..MR HOE!

Yep, Mr Hoe Juan Teng, DM, who is my ex big boss at ALB...
Wooo...he came shopping with his wife i suppose ...
I was so kaypo as i was seeing who he came with, as i dun think he would come alone..haha
Of course, he did not see me..else....(phew..)

The thing that brought much of my attention was also the escape of the JI Head...
He is one daring fellow..!
Now that the army has been involved and deployed for the operations..I can feel the possible tension and "excitement" within the camps..
I can recall the time where the "stupid fellow" whom lost his rifle in Madai ... and saboed so many standby forces all ard to join the search..Of course to be fair..i was supposed to have been the 1st batch to go ...but..anyway..
It could have been a disaster as the search could last thru CNY if the rifle could not be found..
Well...those were the days...

Somewhat recalling the days in-camp..
Well..would be "experiencing" it probably in June...ICT in NeeSoon Camp...

Quite nice to have an OFFday on a weekend BUT..i had nothing planned and want to do...
So waiting for any adhoc matter or event to do lo...

So i was slacking and slacking for whole morning till shiok...

Becos of some reason..i was contemplating a "visit" to DragonFly..haha..well..it was quite in the schedule till i really had no mood for it..

Then was looking for movie to watch as i am prepared for boring TV shows..
I have realised that weekend TVs is getting worse..where u cannot sit for one hour getting entertainment from TV...

Aiming for "Meet the Spartans" .. which was a same catergory kind of lamo movie macham like Scary Movie series..So now at least i have a target...
And there i was even telling HY that i was going off soon to watch it...

Who knows..i was sitting down and watching something that pop up on TV which caught my interest..
And the next thing i realise was me sleeping on the sofa..waking up..!!haha
I was still bent on watching that movie...and went to GV webbsite..haha
Another look saw that it was a Sneak Preview - meaning that its 1st show is on Wednesday..Arghhh

So i slack again...and JY called to say that her program was out...
Then we went makan and haha...for the 1st time..I had some1 playing C&C Generals with me in Singapore..haha..
The last time some1 played this game with me was in Thailand with Sam and Eric Wong...where it was post-exercise entertainment in that canteen..haha
Nice and fun though..has been sometime since i played..i might get crazy about it again...

Right now watching the Newcastle v ManU game..haha
and i am on afternoon shift tmr..wonder if i can still slp after the game..as it seems my bio clock is quite unpredictable nowadays..

YEP!! I have passed the Cashier Test..Simply means throw me any checkout job and i would be able to operate..anytime... should be ...haha

Also, getting involved into more of those ISO/HACCP thingy as i am doing quite abit of read-up and understanding those Quality policies existing currently...



Just had a small gathering dinner with KILO and EricWong..supposed to be BotakJones but changed venue due to bad weather ... NewYork NewYork was the place..and it was not too bad...haha..additional of the candyfloss while queueing ..haha (*gian peng...)


So, Mr KILO will be heading back to Aussie-land for another time to complete his final journey for his much-awaited qualifications..which is tomorrow..
It would probably be end-2008/early-2009 when we shall meet up again..
ALL the best for the final year of this degree ... I most prob cannot make it for the sending off though ..but my thought is there...haha

Just when i was at the Town Council Office before going to work...
I saw the CNA on TV showing - "Lydia Sum passed away aged 60"
Of course, she's not my frend or watsoever..but having followed her news about getting the liver cancer and slimming down soo much in the past 2yrs..sighzzz
Sometimes, life can jus be so fragile .. Should we live everyday like the last or should we enjoy life thinking we can live for much longer...*ponder...

At work..i would say i am starting to see my potential..haha
I am quite contented with my progress as of now..Mr Mgr today wanted to throw more "bombs" ..haha
I think i must start to sound out to him about what he intend to throw to me..it seems that he is doing much ..(scaringly too much) to groom me..haha..
Of course...as adapted from the army .. "U never know whats your limit until u reach ur next limit.."
We shall see...

Phew..now that our dear Training Institue should be back to full Ops..
I have been nominated for plenty of courses...coming up in March..almost half of the weekdays are on course..
But the course listings are somewat interesting though and i sure am looking forward to them..

Arranged a Friday evening final gathering for KILO with the usual guys..

Yep..today is the day..Virgin day to operate a checkout..Somewhat exciting to deal with cash and gets even more so when the queue builds up...haha..
Ultimately, not short..but excess of 20cents..haha..
I would say its not so tough afterall..i think its something that u would get used to as time goes by...BUT - i would have to say that it further enhances my liking to do operational duties on the ground..haha..

Aside from work..it has been quite frustrating that i am getting qute restless whilst at home..i feel really bored to have nothing to do ...well..supposed to have ..folding clothes..tidy room ..blah blah..BUT jus do not have the momentum to do all this after a day's work..

Could be due to the past couple of months having much hype with so many gatherings with friends and relatives...Bdays, Army Frends, Ex-collegues, HY/NG, Schmates, CNY ... all these..and so now after CNY where everything has cooled down ..sudden feel the tempo going slow so much significantly..

Starting to feel useless soon..haha..






Unable to spent the actual V-day as i was busy at home doing stuff for the 拜天公 day ...
So its replacement on the very next day..haha
So happened she got MC..haha..i was on OFF...

Well..it was to be a movie combo..JayChou's "KungFu Dunk" and JackNeo's "AH LONG P/L"
It has been quite some time since a movie combo/marathon..

AH LONG was not too bad though ... very regionally localised theme of triads, moneylending stuff..usual gimmicks and comedies ... built ard Fann and Mark Lee..
DUNK was more clear cut ... ultimately Jay was the star of the team .. the start was somewat boring and i really almost slept...waiting for the almost sure-to-have final match with another team to vie for championships...and ya..i guessed it...exactly wat i tot..
OK for entertainment but they are not the best movies ard..

Also watched CJ7 on Wed..not too bad also..highlight would be the cute son where expressions were real cute!! haha..

Workwise - i muz say that i am trying to see wat more potential i have...as i now am venturing into the cashiering world..reason being..for smaller branches..TLs would have to support Chief Cashier in the cashiering duties and thus..the next 2wks would thus be dealing with money!!! OMG..its one of my weakness and hated stuff..but well..
sometimes somethings cannot run away from it...

Cannot understand why ... but it was one of the most hard to spent days ever since joining FairPrice...
After the morning briefing, i was very eagerly trying to look for something to do...

There i was looking around and finally locked on to the Beijing cabbage ...



There i was abt to finish the 1st carton when Mr Mgr called me..and into the office i went..
Haha..then it was interview time!!


Not so much of scared, but i am quite curious what could be the topic..becos after the Mandarin oranges thingy..there seem nothing i have on hand now to perform..
Then, it was recap and update of the past month that i had spent at J8...asking abt how things have been...checking with me how much i have learnt and know...

This session is quite useful though..becos i got to know more abt what i need to know and should know...

He too shared with me quite abit...asking me if i intend to stay for long in FP..to be frank ..i am quite confident abt that..and he said he is prepared to groom me if there's chance..haha..*shiok..!


I was so happy that he pointed out that he was quite happy with my performance and qualities..and asked me to keep it up..however i am quite "diaozz" when he said that i should do less of trimming of vege..servicing of fruits etc..haha..- i do too much of RA job...- haha...But i somehow cannot find a way to put myself to good use!

So after the session...i was re-thinking how much i know and what more need to know...

Before i cross over to Cashiering this Sunday..i should be able to operate a dept based on the stuffs i know..based on procedures that is...


The point is..i may go anytime from now onwards..posted to elsewhere..


Well..after the session ..i was sharing with my current mentor on what i had spoken with the Mgr..of course i am not so stupid to tell him everything...haha..

However..i was unwillingly to tell him that my appointment level is higher than him when he asked me straight..haha..he seemed shocked though..he's 10yrs in FairPrice and i came in straight and is one level above him..haha..I am just afraid he might jealous and ... well..sometimes politics start from this kind of thing..



Just half hour ago..i receive the SAF-100 for ICT in June...haha..
No sure if my friends have got it..Well..NeeSoon Camp is still ok..
Gotta check with them later...







While all of the family were at my uncles' home for CNY gathering..i was working!
For wat was supposedly for me to join them after i knock off..i decided to skip it as i simply was very tired..or still very tired...

After work..i went home..slack a bit and ...SLEEP...
I still cannot understand why i am still so tired..afterwhich i went to find dinner and thats it..3rd day of CNY ended...

Today was my OFF day...arranged to meet up with the Delta guys..for wat was a gathering for Mr Kilo and with those mates..
Venue: Dragon Gate @ Harbourfront
It was as usual where the restaurant is almost our no.1 choice when comes to such gatherings..for food of course..
We were targeting the dim sum buffet though but the waitress told us the buffet is not available till after the 15th day of CNY..perhaps because they do not have the time..as they need to cook up those CNY dishes..
Thus..it was ala carte time..
Nice though to see some seldom seen faces..PS, Lie De, Malcom....well..hmm..
It was supposed to be a bigger extended group but guess due to CNY period ..many buggers could not come..
Then it was food and gossip-sharing and updating of peoples work/life etc..

Next i rushed down to YishunSAFRA with my family again...this time KTV...
i must say this is one of the least possible things that can happen...with all aunties and uncles singing together in a room ...the last time perhaps 10yrs ago...
I wanted to be part of it..and thus must attend this one..
Then we went makan again...and i had also the 2nd Yee Sang in a day - the 1st one with the guys...

Amazingly, i also saw quite a few of those ex-collegues ard..and exchanges updates with them too..haha
I must emphasise again..sometimes its juz so funny that u get to see people u might not so wanna see and those old familiar faces in one day..

Phew..finally get to sit down to do some email-checking..friendster-ing..facebook-ing..blah blah..
Today has been a buzzing day as all uncles, aunties, cousins, friends came to my house for CNY gathering..
Haha..quite amazing though as it has been quite sometime since we had so many people ard...
Was having great fun with those little cousins ...haha ...

To be frank, this yrs' CNY has been quite short-lived, or should i say lesser "feeling"...perhaps i had spent too much time working during the pre-CNY period and doing lesser for my home...
I was just passing time for the past few days and saying Happy New Year here and there...haha..formality indeed..It was also updating those elders abt how i am ...where i am working and blah blah..

Touching on work though..it has been relatively quite amazing that i have endured and pass thru the challenge given...haha...
I really think i have done reasonably okay for this one...with the fact that i had to build the oranges counter from scratch and i must say i have been involved in all of it.. and haha if i can use some vulgar words to describe..heee...i am freaking proud of the past 2wks...
Of course..if my boys see this...they have done well too..doing extra hours due to circumstances and doing wat should be right...

Linking up with the previous post - i must really say that the past 2wks has given me more experience and seen more kinds of customers ard...well..its really true that one will nv finish seeing things ard in this world until u see yet another new thing..haha..too chim..

With the CNY sales nw over, few things coming up for me would be..
1. Await posting for new branch
J8 was supposed to be my attachment branch, where i receive training for my job..therefore it was estimated i would possibly be posted out elsewhere after CNY
2. Cashiering
If i still do not get any posting soon, i would be attaching to the cashiering side where i would be dealing with money and doing the authorisation duties if required...well..this is one of the things i do nt really favour ..BUT...BUT...sighzz
3. Back to roaming TL
Now that i do nt have mandarin oranges counter at my helm..its back to roaming and i would have to see where i can fit myself into somewhere useful...being a "Project TL" sometimes nt very nice de...

Happen to had a chat with my current mentor..where he shared with me quite abit of experience with FairPrice..and he signals his intentions that he hopes to leave J8 branch..and if HQ would keep me at J8..haha..
Should i say this is gd or bad wor...haha...

Enuf abt work..i look to having some entertainment though as i have really given all i can at work and MUST have some relaxation though..

Tmr KAI GONG liao..morning shift somemore..the 1st shift = open door shift..

Less than one week towards CNY...
It has been oranges..oranges...oranges...
Mr Mgr asked me how issit ... hows everything..haha..i replied with one word - CHALLENGING!

Haha..i think that word can fully summarise everything as of now..
Sales is gd ..no problem..its just how to link up and provision the stuff in time for people to buy...
The challenge to use limited space and maximise sufficiency is critical to smoothen operations...

Well..till now i have heard thousands of diff tactices from customers when they see diff oranges..haha
If only i can use some badwords to describe some of those nasty customers...sighzzz..

Overall..i think i have done my best to do wat i can already..well..with the help from the boys i have on hand though...cannot forget them...
They have been doing much sales job while i plan and think of operational flow...
Certainly the past few days has been working 14hrs shift..haha..
Dunno if its the inner me wanting to ensure everything is nicely done b4 i go home or the eagerness to see how things are at night ..(as i am more of morning shift) .. so it means that i am working from 830 to 1100pm on average..
Its tiring though but quite having the sense of achievement when eveything is nicely done ..

As i write up this opening...the muscleache in me is acting up now..and i shall get ready to slp...
Critcal last few days b4 CNY ahead..Just in case i dun have any updates here...
